About the Marathon 3 Exciting Events, 1 Date

The marathon is not just a great race but also aims to contribute to the economy of the Island and raise money for charitable causes. Now in its fifth year we aim to build the event into a real celebration for Jersey.

The event is organised by a newly formed Marathon Mangement Team.  The Team are responsible for the planning of the event and it is formed from a group of enthusiastic volunteers.

Our aim is to continue to attract more runners to the event and to the Island without loosing the intimate and friendly feel of the race.

"The Marathon running route was absolutely stunning , the supporters and marshals along the way were fantastic.  This was my first time in Jersey, and I thoroughly enjoyed my long weekend on the Island - I don't think i've ever met a friendlier bunch of people. " Samantha, London

The Marathon Management Team report to the Jersey Marathon Trust.  The trustees are responsible for ensuring that the finances of the event are well managed and provides an oversight on the governance of the marathon.

The aims of the Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon are to:

  • Raise money for good causes on the Island and beyond.
  • Give Jersey based runners an opportunity to compete in a marathon without having to leave the island.
  • Have fun and celebrate the unique character of the beautiful island of Jersey.
  • Create a sporting event that attracts visitors to the Island.
