We are thrilled to welcome every single runner who joins us for the 2011 Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon, but we have some particularly inspirational runners to motivate you this year!
Mark is helping Headway in a remarkable way this year, not only does he work for the charity, but he is running 7 Marathons in 7 consecutive days, with the Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon being his final one. Rik has undertaken the amazing challenge of running 42 Marathons in 42 Weeks in aid of the Elizabeth Foundation. Jersey will be number 31 in his efforts.
Steve is a seasoned Marathon Runner who is hoping Jersey will be his 540th Marathon. The Jersey Marathon will form part of his overall challenge to run 500 sub 3:30 Marathons, which would be a World Record! He also broke the World Record for running 10 Marathons in 10 days.
John 'Maddog' Wallace
John has run more than 340 Marathons in 107 countries, a world record. He has completed Marathons in all 50 States of the USA (twice) and 3 territories, all 13 provinces and territories of Canada, and all 7 Continents. He has completed a Marathon in at least 5 Countries on every Continent (except Antarctica) and is the only runner to complete a Marathon in every country in Europe and North America.
