IMPORTANT RELAY RUNNER TRANSPORT INFORMATION

Getting To / From Relay Stations

It is vitally important that all Relay Runners use the free coach transfers to and from each Relay Station and check in on, or before the stated check-in time for each Relay Station.

The amount of traffic on the roads around and near Relay Stations has now become a significant issue for organizers, runners, and our marshals. Therefore, for safety reasons, we must now enforce that all Relay Runners arrive/depart from Relay Stations using our free coaches. Please review the below table to see when your coaches depart and return for your designated Relay Station.

Please note that in 2023, there will be additional road closures around Relay Station 1 (Waterworks Valley) and Relay Station 2 (St Ouen) and so it will not be possible to be dropped off or collected by car at either station. Please note also at Relay Station 2 in St Ouen, the Parish Hall car park will be closed.

For Relay Station 2 – St Ouen, there will be an additional free coach departing from Les Quennevais School Car Park in St Brelade.

Industry Cups

As part of the Ravenscroft Relay Race, we are pleased to confirm the below Industry Cups for 2024. Teams of Five should make sure that they select their Industry Sector from the below list when the register their entry:

  • Bank Cup sponsored by Standard Chartered
  • Investment Cup sponsored by Ravenscroft
  • Digital Cup sponsored by Switch Digital
  • Law Cup
  • Trust Cup
  • Accountant Cup
  • Government of Jersey Cup

The fastest relay team of five times recorded in each industry sector will be awarded the Industry Cup, which will be held for one year.

To qualify for an Industry Cup category, all team members must work (full-time, part-time or contract) for the same organisation. For the Government of Jersey Cup, team members must work for a government department, this will include the emergency services and some schools (where they receive Government funding)

Presentation of the Industry Cups will be done at a date after the event, and all winning teams will be notified of their success by email.

LAST MINUTE CHANGES

As there are many logistics to arrange we would prefer that you organise your teams prior to race day. We appreciate changes may occur so please see some guidance on relay changes and last minute cancellations.

Can I make a substitute before the event?

To change your runners information you need to log into your Race Nation account to invite your runner to your teams page.

If one of my team members drops out at the last minute can we still compete?

If someone drops out at the last minute and you can’t find a substitute, one of your team members may choose to run two legs of the race. Please note that in this instance the team will not be eligible for a prize. If this happens inform a Race Official at your change over point.

Can I make a substitute at the last minute?

Yes. If you make a substitute at the last minute, it is the Team Captain’s responsibility to inform the Information Desk at the start of the race. Substitutes must sign the Declaration before they are eligible to run. In this situation the team would still be eligible for a prize. Please do not make substitutions without informing the Race Organisers and without the substitute signing the Declaration.

What if one of the runners drops out on the course?

If one of your team has to drop out during the course of their Relay Race leg for any reason they must contact a marshal. If they require medical assistance the marshal will arrange this. The marshal will also ensure that the next Relay Race change over point is aware of the situation and that the awaiting team member is informed. The team can continue to run the race but will not be eligible for a prize.
