The Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon
The Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon is an established niche marathon situated on the stunning island of Jersey, located in the British-owned Channel Islands. The race, which is split into three categories, Marathon, Relay Race and Marathon Mile regularly attracts over 2,500 runners, with over 40% of marathon runners coming from off the Island.
With a professional yet friendly atmosphere, the Jersey Marathon welcomes runners of all ages and abilities; Elite athletes compete for prize money and course records, whilst many runners participate to do something truly amazing for themselves and for the benefit of others. Corporate teams work together to take on the Relay Race and vie for the prestige of winning their industry trophy, while families, junior and short course athletes test themselves over the Marathon Mile distance through the heart of our town.
As a firm fixture in islanders’ calendars, all runners can expect huge support from local residents around the entire route, and to quote a recent runner ‘The Jersey Marathon is a small race, with a very big atmosphere’.
The event starts and finishes in the ‘Weighbridge’ area, in the heart of St Helier, Jersey’s capital. Crossing the finish line in Jersey is a special occasion, with large crowds and full media presence, runners can expect a thunderous reception as they complete the course.
