About Futuremakers

Futuremakers by Standard Chartered (“Futuremakers”), a global initiative to tackle inequality and promote greater economic inclusion for young people in our communities, is the official global beneficiary* for the Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon 2023.
Through Futuremakers programmes, we can make a difference in promoting economic inclusion and empowering our next generation to learn, earn and grow. Globally, more than 200 million young people are either unemployed, or they have jobs, but continue to live in poverty due to low income. [1] We believe everyone should have access to opportunities to realise their full potential so all money raised for Futuremakers from this year’s event will go toward education, employability and entrepreneurship programmes for disadvantaged young people around the world.
You can donate to Futuremakers here.
*£5 from each entry to the Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon 2023 will be donated to the Standard Chartered Foundation (registered charity in England and Wales charity number 1184946, company number 11968592) and support Futuremakers by Standard Chartered, a global initiative to tackle inequality and promote greater economic inclusion. All funds raised for Futuremakers by Standard Chartered will be matched by Standard Chartered PLC up to a limit of USD5 million per year.
About St John Ambulance Jersey

The core of our Commandery of St John Ambulance is made up of our volunteers and our Voluntary sections of St John Ambulance in Jersey, made up of our First Aiders. The Fellowship of St John Ambulance, The order of St John play a vital role in supporting our Commandery.
The Commandery of St John Ambulance in Jersey continues to thrive because of the loving dedication of our St John people who give their time unstintingly. Not only to support the islanders at virtually every public event and many of the other Island functions, but also to train to a level of excellence so that they can fulfil this extraordinary vocation.
Our Volunteers are a familiar sight at most major events on the island. You see them smartly dressed in St John Ambulance uniform and you may be forgiven for thinking that our extremely efficient St John People are paid. You could not be more wrong. They have dedicated thousands of hours’ service to train to a standard of excellence to enable them to fulfil this role of care in our community. We are immensely proud of them.
St John Ambulance is one of the oldest Charities in the world originally formed in 1877 and has thrived in Jersey for well over 130 years. In 2012 we became The Commandery of the Bailiwick of Jersey, a Jersey charity financially independent but following the charitable purpose of The Priory of St John Ambulance England. Our vision is “Everyone who needs it should receive first aid from those around them. We believe that no one should suffer for the lack of first aiders”. First aid saves lives as has been proven over and over again. Our mission is to fulfil our vision.
